Curious

I'm working on my Hebrew homework for the week, which is Day 5 of Creation (Genesis 1:20-23), and I came across an interesting word.  At the beginning of verse 22, it says, "And God blessed them..."  The root of the verb meaning "bless" is transliterated as barak.  I'm not sure what to think of that in light of the recent presidential election... hmm...
