Breaking news update

I just found out more information from my sister-in-law...

The house's damage is estimated at $40,000 at this point. An entire wall of the house around the chimney was burned, the kitchen and living room ceilings need to be replaced as does the living/dining room carpet.  There was some damage to the roof (which is brand new - only 2 weeks old!) and possibly some structural damage.  The rest is primarily smoke damage although apparently very little of the family's stuff was actually hurt other than needing washed and cleaned due to smoke damage.  The Red Cross is providing them a hotel room for a few days, and the kids are currently staying with their grandma.

Overall it's not a total disaster, but I'm sure it's still going to be rough going for a little while until everything is cleaned up and fixed.

Here is a link to the article on the local TV stations website, doesn't say much http://www.wlio.com/localNews.aspx?NewsID=9162. The annomyus person the article references was a neighbor across the field getting home from work at 3:30am
