I actually got the email from Winebrenner about this on Saturday... one of my seminary professors, Dr. Lightner, passed away last Friday. I had him for Ministerial Person class last fall, and he was definitely a knowledgeable person - both theologically and practically. Apparently back in June some sort of tumor was found in his skull and he had been suffering from that all summer, but that was never published to the entire seminary community, so before I got the email that he passed away I had no idea he was sick at all! He was only 58... check out the obituary here. My friend Kimberly and I are probably going to the visitation tonight.
