We're meeting with our renters for the Toledo house tonight, and giving them the keys and garage door openers! They offered to meet us halfway so we wouldn't have to drive all the way up there, so we're going to meet at Bob Evans in Bowling Green and have dinner while we're at it.
We're not going to charge them for the "extra week" until November 1 when the lease technically starts. Our cleaning lady from Findlay wasn't going to be able to make enough time in her schedule to get up there and clean the house before they'd be needing to move in. We made a deal with the renters that we'd give them the extra week free but they're responsible for any cleaning they'd like done, and we all agree that's fair.
It's still weird to think about someone else living in "our" house, especially while it's still technically in our possession. It's a very weird thing having 2 houses like this. They both feel like our house, though Findlay is definitely out home now. I think it's because we haven't had that closure experience of actually selling it, even though it has been 21 months since we moved out.
But at any rate, we're definitely happy to have the mortgage nearly paid for on it, at least for the next 12 months. Beyond that, who knows!
