Congrats to Bill - he has now been officially promoted to the "Electrical Pro" position at Lowe's!
Not only is this a full-time, permanent position (as opposed to the temporary status he had before), but it also comes with a 21% pay raise and benefits! It's retroactive back to June 1, so he should be getting retroactive pay too. We'll be able to have dental and vision insurance for the first time in about 18 months, and we'll take his medical too if it's better than mine. He also can contribute to a 401k with company matching, which we definitely need to do considering we haven't been able to afford to for about 2 1/2 years.
The new position is basically the same as what he does currently, though he'll have more to do with the operations of the electrical department and have to do some reports and stuff. He'll be responsible for training new people should they get any, and if they do any "how-to" clinics he either gets to lead them or find someone else to do so. Unfortunately his hours will not be any more regular than they are now, so we'll still have to deal with the funky schedule, but that's definitely a small price to pay!
Apparently he's in pretty good with management, because where else can you work for 2 months and then get a 21% pay raise? :-)
